| MA3312: Advanced Texturing and Lighting In this course the students will learn to apply traditional paint concepts, tools, and techniques for use in computer animation. They will develop critical ideas for surface treatment, texture, and lighting and demonstrate the layering of light in space to create mood, emotion and theme. Furthermore, they will demonstrate an understanding of global illumination, final gather, Radiosity, and HDRI. Finally, upon completion they will be able to critically understand how light affects a surfaces’ color based on material: Diffusion, Gloss, Specularity, Reflectivity, Translucence, and Ambience. |

| GA3313: Designing 3d Environments Most levels of popular games are designed as building interiors and contain characteristics common to interior design layouts. This is also true of the film world. This course provides the opportunity for students to create architectural interiors representing houses, buildings, and entire worlds contained under a roof, in which to place their characters. |

Focusing on various pipelines, this course covers concepts such as displacement mapping, normal mapping, Zspheres and their skinning processes, and 2.5 illustration. |

| FS497: Portfolio 2 (GAD+VGP) This course focuses on the completion of a student's portfolio and enables the student to begin a career search. Students present work for the portfolio, then review and determine the quality of the work and make any enhancements necessary. The student also completes a professional resume and extensive job search. |

| CA515: Facial Animation Studies This course focuses on analysis of the animation cycle, traditional animation techniques, and the study of motion and experimental animation. Students will focus on facial animation and gesture techniques. Specifically, students will build self-portraits, record audio, and perform animation tests with rigged busts of their own heads. |
